Making Rotterdam Our Home for a While
Perhaps you remember seeing the happy faces of the Molijn crowd in our dear aunt and uncle's house in Rotterdam - May 16th it was. Well, Hans and Anke have very graciously let us stay in their home while they're on their vacation in the south of France. Thank you SO much, Dear Family; we have really enjoyed being 'residents' rather than tourists this week. Ken even bought some fresh flowers 'cause he knew how much Marijke loves the smell of Freesias and because we have enough time here to enjoy them!
Not only is there a warm and loving atmosphere in all these many rooms but there're bicycles we can use when we want to take a quick turn around the lake or go into the city for a little bit of shopping? One day we took the tram to visit the street market (the largest in Europe, we're told) and then we walked 'home'. It was super (and much safer than rollerblading, I think).
Here are some shots at the market, I'll tell you about some of the souvenirs we got later.
Also in the refrigerator were a lot of white, yellow and blue cheeses (leftover from the reunion). We've been told to finish it all off before it turns green. So, you know me, I'm always trying to be an obliging bear.
WE MISS YOU, HANS AND ANKE. Have a good time for the rest of your holiday and please drive home safely next week. We won't be here when you get back (are you glad!) but we sure hope we can get together before we leave the country!) - T
