Teddy on a Mission

Just so you know, I am a traveling bear. This is a place where I can share text & pictures of the fun (and hopefully worthwhile) things I do with my unparents, Ken and Marijke.

Name:
Location: Greer, South Carolina, United States

I started this blog for the bear-loving friends in my church mostly since they were kind enough to send me on a mission trip to France. That was in 2006. Hopefully I'll get to go on other trips, too (like this most recent extended trip in 2009). But my main mission is to bear each blessed day with gratitude.

Cousin Ankje and sons and KING

Let me first say that I'm not at all afraid of this big sweet dog named King. You probably can't tell too well in these shots but he only has one eye. When they got him, therefore, he reminded the family of a one-eyed king in a deck of cards! One of the pleasures of this day was a LONG walk in the woods where this friendly beast could jump into the canal over and over again to retreive his ball.

Pepijn had just gotten his cast off his leg and was well practiced at couch sitting but he definitely could hobble well enough to try to beat his brother at this noisy dice trick they were learning.
The reigning champ? Well, at card tricks anyway - Timmo's even going to do a presentation for his class and get a grade for his 'work'. (He's been reading about Hoodini, too so will have to actually write something, I believe!) In any case, I've never seen anyone flip cards like this guy does!

No pictures here but Marijke and first cousin, Ankje played three games of double solitaire. You would have growled if you'd watched - the rules seemed to change from dutch to american as they went along! Hurrah for pizza parlors, though - otherwise everyone'd been cooking instead of playing cards! Timmo's friend went home to eat, I'm assuming, so it was the four of us - oops - FIVE of us - I forgot myself! What a lovely patio and beautiful weather we had! - TR
