Teddy on a Mission

Just so you know, I am a traveling bear. This is a place where I can share text & pictures of the fun (and hopefully worthwhile) things I do with my unparents, Ken and Marijke.

Name:
Location: Greer, South Carolina, United States

I started this blog for the bear-loving friends in my church mostly since they were kind enough to send me on a mission trip to France. That was in 2006. Hopefully I'll get to go on other trips, too (like this most recent extended trip in 2009). But my main mission is to bear each blessed day with gratitude.

On the Way to Amsterdam

Some shots of the beach that we stopped at briefly - I think it's spelled 'Scheveningen'. M went out on the pier to get pictures after K had his raw herring treat.

Check out the diggers on the beach, by the way - big job going on shifting sand here and there! Maybe to make sandcastles?
Ken amd Marijke also visited a garden shop on the way to Amsterdam and tried on some very fine articles of clothing for a laugh.

I know I've been doing a lot of skipping around here because this particular blog is of a time several weeks ago. However, it's busy work making memories (in the days ahead K&M plan to drag me to Normandy, Belgium, Rotterdam, East Germany, England, Eindhoven and Brittany) and it takes a lot of doing to keep up with the computer, as you can imagine. SO I'm therefore elated to say that this is my second last entry for a while and then I'll feel all caught up! Hurrah! (Pictures of the Schepers' reunion for Tante Magda's 75th birthday party MUST follow even though I don't have them ALL! But that was on the 17th of May - no more waiting, right?)
And, so, finally - arrival in Amsterdam. We caught up with Thomas who had just finished a day-long bike tour with two of M's cute second cousins. Here's Laura (Lilly had already left for home on her bike when we arrived.)
But alas there are no pictures of the nightlife we shared together (we used T's camera as we walked around - after eating Indonesian food together - YUM).
So hopefully I'll be able to post a link later so that you can see the pictures - the canals and old buildings are truly spectacular subjects for even the most amateuristic of photographers...
Wishing I'd had my camera with me, Teddy!

Hey Marijke - I just now finally read every posting and looked at all your pictures. Looks like you and Ken and Thomas and Teddy are having a fabulous time! We've been crazy busy here - the 7 week remodelling project is almost done, and we're unpacking all the boxes and decorating - so pleased with how it's all turned out! We're so glad we followed some of your great suggestions! Will look forward to following more of your trip - blessings to you all!
