Leipzig's Historic Thomas Church
Naturally I took lots of pictures around this special town but the boys choir concert was by far the highlight. This church has the steepest pitch of any in Europe, I believe. As we listened to the German words, I thought of a couple of people back home that would love to try this organ out!
Marga and the girls escorted us to this concert on our first night and then Jorg met us for a snack and a mini tour as it was getting dark. (We went home to a feast, by the way!)
The deal with this famous statue is that you get wishes granted if you rub this guy's foot with your left hand. So many have done it that it's quite a shiny shoe. Ken and Marijke rubbed this foot three years ago with the girls and wished they could return to Leipzig - so you see, it works!
These bells were on our tour, too - you will see them in another blog in another town soon!
I can say I was in Bach's town! - Teddy
